Mary Ann
I discovered this summer that I had several problems related
to my heart, most urgent being stenosis and prolapse of the
mitral valve. I have no recollection of rheumatic fever, but the
damage is similar to that. I was pretty much into CHF when
diagnosed, and backed off with medication. However, it has been
made clear to me since August that surgery is imperative. My
daughter graduates from college on Saturday, December 16, and I
check into St. Luke's in Houston on Monday, December 18 for the
surgery. My cardiologists are Dr. Small and Dr. Hogan, and my
surgeon is Dr. Ott.
