I was born with a bicuspid valve and had aortic stenosis. I had my first ballonplasty at 14 and had my first open heart surgery to reconstruct my valve at 16. Last October I became the proud recipient of a mechanical valve which has since been recalled by St.Jude for potential problems plus I get to take coumadin every day for blood thinning. I'm still here and I plan on being around awhile and I am in this forum to get support and be supportive for others like myself. We have seen the beast and looked directly into it's eyes and lived to tell others. Lets keep fighting thank you. |
