Default Kevin Young's AVR this Friday, June 29th

Kevin,

I want to wish you the very best as you undergo surgery. I am sure your age and good health will serve you well, and the results will be a new and improved aortic valve along with an easy recovery.

If you can, please let us know how you do. We tend to worry when we don't hear back from surgery members!

God Bless and Godspeed,
Mary

In less then eight hours I'll be in surgery. And I'm more nervous then anything else I've ever done. Probably because I'm not in complete control.

This sucks!

Hey Kevin,
I understand totally.....we have no control over the surgery....but this is a good time to let yourself be in someone elses hands and keep your faith and prayers going strong!!
Best wishes, come back to us well

I haven't been around for a while and just checking in. An update since my AVR on 6/29/07 and my concern about returning to endurance sports. Well this year I did the following.

1/08 Miami Marathon. 7 months post-op.

5/08 NJ half Marathon, with some great people from Cardiac Athletes.

6/08 Sprint triathlon. First in my age group.

9/08 Ironman Wisconsin finish in 11:58

10/08 Twin cities Marathon. 3:15 finish that qualified me for Boston.

So yes I can return to endurance sports.
