Hi all –
Here’s the update on Karen…….yesterday was a day of relief and she was surprising herself (and us) by sitting up in a chair, etc. Today is a bit more of reality with pain, medications, etc. She has moved out of ICU and into a room, the move itself was a lot I think. Here is where you find her: University of Washington Medical Center, room 5242, phone 206/598-4500. This phone number is to the nurses’ desk and they will transfer calls to Karen.
I have been relaying all of your messages to them, but visitors are still asked to hold-off until later. I will try and send a weekend update also. We need to keep them well stocked with good thoughts and anything you can think of to keep spirits high. It is such a relief to have the surgery over and that is was a great success, however, the recovery road is going to be long.
Take care—stay tuned!! Kristine
