After being told that my surgery was all well and good, and than hearing from my cardiologist a week later that "well we found something unusual in your echo", and than waiting another month to hear from my surgeon, finally all is well. (as many of you predicted) I had put my hockey gear in the attic just before my surgery in August and thought sadly " I may never use this stuff again" well I played hockey for the first time last week! I will be 3 months post op on November 12 and will be able to stop the coumodin at that time. It has been a full year from the time I first heard I would need surgery until now, what a year! For now life is good.

Go for it, John! Getting back to what's really important is what it's all about.

Best wishes,

John I'm so glad that you are getting back to enjoy some of the things that you did before heart surgery. It's great to start feeling normal again, isn't it? Just remember to still take it easy and don't overdo. I have room to talk, I've set myself back several times. LOL

John, Thanks for the post. I am having my PVR on Wednesday (11/10) and it it nice to hear (again) that at about three months I will be feeling like my old self again!! Perhaps I can keep a "happy thought" of a spring break trip with my family to keep myself motivated. I never was much of a hockey player after all!! ;)

John,

Great news, I know you must be relieved. Took them long enough eh? ;)

Have fun and be careful back on the ice! :)
