Well, we're fast approaching Jim's 1-year anniversary of his AVR (5 weeks 3 days, not that I'm counting ;) ).
Tomorrow is his first check-up with his cardio since 8 weeks post-op. We keep on having this stupid argument - I think Jim deserves better treatment and for his cardio to really listen to our concerns (particularly about the SVT and whether it could be CURED rather than just kept at bay with medication, but generally too), but Jim's convinced he's just going to brush everything off and not believe anything's wrong or offer us any alternatives.
So, if you'd all like to say a little prayer tonight, or dust off your lucky rabbit's foot, or just keep your fingers crossed, I'd be more than grateful. :) The one thing I really don't want to happen is for the cardio to say "Jim's fine and come back in a year" or whatever. We've been putting up with the sleepless nights and worry for long enough in my opinion. This year should've been about celebrating the fact Jim made it through the surgery and is on the mend, but in fact we've spent over 6 months worrying about a stupid arrhythmia which MIGHT in fact be curable. Grrrrrrrrr!!!
Sorry, just had to offload a bit of angst! I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow. The appointment's at 3.10 pm GMT. So in 24 hours we should have some answers.
