To be sure we’re all in the same hotel and that we all get the same great rate... or even that we’re all seated in the same area in a restaurant........ we really, really need some idea of how many people will be attending the reunion and on what days. I promise we won’t come hunt you down if you change your mind between now and then... :p But some idea of how many people will be involved would make things work out much more efficiently in the end.

I'll be there providing I can afford it. I'm weighing the difference in cost to either fly or drive out. I'd need more days off if I drive though. Sounds like an issue getting from the airport to wherever were staying too. That sounds expensive. I'm on a fairly tight budget which is why Carol usually comes with me to our reunions. That way she gets a mini vacation and we both share the expenses. Besides the fact she feels like one of the group even though she hasn't had a valve replaced. I voted in the poll though.

Hey Girlfriend,
You’ll make up the cost of getting from the airport to the hotel and back real quick. The hotel and food in Golden is a lot less expensive. It’s looking like the hotel will be around $89.00 and they told me you can eat breakfast for as little as $5.00 at the hotel and they have daily lunch and dinner specials. Come on... you gotta come!!
And Carol IS a member.... by association!! :p

Rain,
Okay, you won! Haven't even talk to Carol to confirm, but we'll be there!:) Have to see your all neck of the woods! I've heard it's beautiful! Yes, Carol feels like a member she has said. She just feels so comfortable with everyone like she does belong. Not glad I ended up having valves replaced but since I did, I am very happy I found this website! Never met such wonderful caring people!

Hi Rain,
Will see you all sometime on Friday. :)
Do you have the name of the hotel in Golden?
For all of the "shopping nuts" amongst us looking for a good deal.......there is a great new outlet mall in Golden! Near 6th Avenue Estates if my memory serves me. :D

I'm planning on being there on Friday - probably all day. I'll be at the dinner but will not need a hotel room.

Rain.. Joni and I hope to be there the whole time, and intend to fly to Denver. We are thinking about sharing a room to cut cost. Not sure yet about Pam coming. She'll decide later she told us.
So, count us in. Can't wait to see you all again. This'll be lots of fun.

Dear Colorado Reunion Committee:
My wife and I coming Thursday PM and departing Sunday. Friday dinner, Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch?
Food, wine and comraderie is what's important.
* the only "glitch" I could potentially have in making it at all is if (IF) I'm in my golf league's playoffs this year. I was beat out by one stroke last year. Who knows until October.
Cheers!

I haven't been to one before but would like to try to make this one but I don't know anything about what to expect regarding the reunion... what do you do at the reunion? If we can only make one meal, which one should we aim for?
Thanks! ~Susan

Hey Rain!
What's shakin' girlfriend???:D Christine and I are renting a car as well so we will be able to transport some warm bodies! If some people are arriving about the same time at the airport (we can even wait a little while) we would be glad to give them a ride to Golden. And the same for the return trip on Sunday. We haven't gotten our plane reservations yet but from looking at the flight from Tucson it appears we will be arriving somewhere around noon. Will post the exact times when we purchase our tickets. Can wait to see "old" friends and meeting "new" ones. Let's see who we can corrupt this time!! he! he!:D Take care!

If you can only make it for one meal, I would suggest Friday evening.
Now don't everybody start writing saying, "Yeah sure, that is when you are going to give your talk." Friday is usually the biggest dinner.

The best description of a VR.com reunion was posted on this forum a couple years ago by one of our respected founder members Mr Dick Vincent. I won't be able to remember it word for word, cause Dick has a 'way with words' and usually uses very few of them.
Anyway the jist of his remarks was that apart from the dinners, there was no real agenda. Some people arrive early and leave early, some arrive late and leave late and the wise ones arrive early and leave late. The part in between arrival and departure is usually determined by spur-of-the-moment suggestions made by the wiser folks. In Nashville we had a jam-session by the piano for six hours which upset the hotel and raised everyone's INR....well it was really the margaritas that affected the INR. There was also a tour of the Opryland hotel on the Saturday morning and we ate at different places each night.
In Chicago we spent the Saturday afternoon on Navy Pier, etc. and folks did stuff in smaller groups the rest of the time....in fact I wonder how many can remember what they did...hahaha, wasn't there a hospitality room or somfin, I seem to remember that bit.
In short, you can come as you please, go as you like, do what you want......you can even discuss INR's if you have the uncontrollable urge, but you will be amongst friends and you will enjoy yourself and have a good time, whether you want to or not.......in fact having a good time is the only part of the reunion that is compulsory.
It's as simple as that..............Cheers,
