Does Coumadin effect males and reproduction? My husband is about to undergo valve repair or replacement (unsure yet) in October and we are both young, trying to start a family. Just wondering. Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks!

At 54 (almost) and having had "The Big V" sometime ago, I cannot definitely say that coumadin affects the reproductive potential of males. I don't think it does.
I do know that I still "work" okay.

I have done extensive research on coumadin and have never seen anything like that. I am 35 and will probably reproduce at least once more. I've been on coumadin for over two years now. I'll let you know ;)

Hi
Welcome. Good question.
Know for a fact that it effects the female reproduction cycle. That can supposedly be managed with heparin type injections during pregnancy. Risks appeared too high for us to consider. We have a healthy and happy five year old....that's a gift in itself.
Keep us posted on your findings.
