I came across this book and thought I would share it here. One comment on Amazon was from a patient who felt that reading this book helped them better prepare for surgery and recovery.

Coping With Heart Surgery and Bypassing Depression: A Family's Guide to the Medical, Emotional, and Practical Issues
by Carol Cohan MA, June B. Pimm Ph.D.,

What edition is your copy?

FWIW, that book was originally published as
_The Heart Surgery Handbook_ and had
THREE authors, the third being J.Jude, M.D.
I believe the other contributors were a
psychologist and a medical writer.

See _The Heart Surgery Handbook_ post
in the reference section from 2002.

Al,

I will check and follow up with you. I should be receiving it any day now. The nice thing about the amazon link is that it lets you read the table of contents and some of the text before you hit the "buy" button.

best,
