I am looking for surgens in the Denver area to do valve replacement. I am looking at mitral and aortic replacement. Has anyone had this procedure done, and if so how are you feeling?

Take a look at my post in the presurgery section called picking docs and hospitals. There are a couple of sites there that may help. Please let me know if these were useful to you. Good luck ! Chris

Dr. David Fullerton who used to be the head of cardiothorasic surgery at Northwestern Memorial in Chicago recently moved to Colorado, but I am not sure where. He is a top surgeon and a very nice and understaning human being. If you contact Northwestern Memorial surgery department I am sure that they can give you his exact location.

I had an aortic valve replaced and two bi-passes done at Presbyterian/St. Lukes here in Denver on 03/03/04. My surgeon was Dr. Richard Parker. He was great - and did what I believe to be a good job. He is also a nice guy and easy to talk with.

Dr. John Propp of ‘Rocky Mountain Cardiovascular Surgeons’ replaced my mitral valve with a mechanical valve on 4-6-00. He’s a very easy man to talk to and really knows his stuff. I would recommend him to anyone. My surgery was done at ‘The Medical Center of Aurora’. Dr. Jerry Greenburgh is the cardio who did my angiogram and all that stuff. He’s just wonderful too. Oh... and you just have to have my cowboy anesthesiologist.... he was from Colorado Anesthesia... Dr. Stevens. Three really awesome people.
For what it's worth.... I was a little freaked about this whole heart surgery thing. I found a web site where you could pay for a report on different surgeons. I ordered one on Dr. Propp. According the report.... everyone else loves him too! :D
