Hi Hank,

Sorry I'm hear to cause problems again, but a number of times I have lost substantial posts for various reasons.

Is there any way to save messages in the course of writing them so that, just in case we get logged off or something happens with our computer, or whatever, we can retrieve them?

I do tend to write long messages sometimes (my background is in philosophy, what can I say?) and so am probably more prone than most to lose messages while writing. This has happened to me at least a half dozen times and is very frustrating.

I'll try to be more brief and break up my messages, but, once I get on a roll, I prefer to keep rollin', if you know what I mean!!;)

Again, thanks for everything you're doing and I certainly understand if you are limited in what you can do in this regard.

Hi Steve-

Here's what I'd do. I'm with AOL so I don't know if it would work for you, but while within any website, AOL allows you to pull down an open file which can be saved to your hard drive. So I would pull down that window and start my post there and save it every few minutes, then when I was done, I would cut and paste to the VR. com posting window. That way you could also work on your long posting when off line. You could even cut and paste the post you were replying to on your hard drive file if need be.

It's a super pain to be kicked off just when you're on a roll.

Steve, my ISP cuts us off after 20 mins and ofttimes that's not enough to think our post thru and put it into words. Maybe Nancy's answer is a good one, except that I never know that it might take me longer than 20 mins! :D

A similar solution -- though not a shortcut -- is simpy to compose posts in word processing or on WordPad or some such thing where they can be easily saved, then paste them into the posting space on VR. One possible upside to the nuisance = keeping a running file of one's own postings.

Steve-

It may still be stored on your computer under Windows Explorer, Windows folder, Temporary Internet Files. Everything gets stored there until you delete it. But opening the file, ah, that's another problem. My system won't let me open these files saying it might be dangerous to run a system command on them and I don't want to take a chance. Maybe you computer gurus out there know if they could be safely opened. The VR.com files seem to all be PHP files.

It might also be saved on Hank's server. We all know that computers never really delete anything!!
