Hi all,
In order for us to plan for the main dinner. Would appreciate anyone and everyone planning to attend the evening of October 10th to post intentions below.
Please include the number of guests in your party.
We would like to have all responses in by this time next week to ensure we have space booked.
All other plans for the reunion are coming along and will be posted as soon as we have the entire agenda arranged.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you:)

Hi, Gina,
Count me in for one definite (maybe two if I can get my homebody husband to come). The only thing that would prevent me from coming is if my son gets past the regionals in tennis which is earlier that week. I'll keep in touch.

Hi Gina,
I think you can plan on us being there after all, Ray REALLY wants to see Chicago, and it is only about a 7 1/2 hour drive.
I'll let you know by the end of the week for sure.
Anyway, I was doing a little research to see what there is to see in the Windy City and I found this at the Museum of Science and Industry: A giant heart that you can walk through. Thought it might be fun for this crowd to look at. http://www.msichicago.org/exhibit/heart/index.html
Have you been there before? I was at that museum when I was like 18, but don't remember if the heart was there at that time.
Note: I just went back and read the whole thing, it says it was there in the 40's, so I guess I just don't have a very good memory!!

Hi Jean,
Been going there since we were kids. Have not been in awhile though. The hurdle we will be up agaist is traffic between the area we are staying and the city. We will have to be on a tight schedule if we don't use the train. Especially on Friday to make it back for main dinner. Few of us staying over at the hotel will have cars. If we can all fit for the trip into the city....that is an option too.
We can also plan indoor/outdoor activity based on weather at that time. Planned to include Navy Pier with a brief stop at the John Hancock for our Saturday trip into the city.
PS. We need to keep this thread stricltly to responses for the main dinner. Ross could you do us a HUGE favor and make another thread for reunion questions and or chit chat? Thanks so much!
I have made it so Gina---Ross - Thanks Ross!

Hi Les,
Your just in time:) Will be making our reservations for the main dinner this week. It will be held on Friday 10/10, PM. So far we have Chicago Pizza scheduled at Gino's East in Rosemont for arrival.....Thursday 10/9 @ 6:30PM. Usually we can all be found hanging out in the hotel atrium.
If anyone is interested in direct cell contacts so we can track each other during the reunion.....please PM Hank and or Myself. Will be happy to provide you with such numbers. I could also compile a list of numbers for all members attending. Have a printout available upon arrival. If you are interested in being part of this list. Please forward your cell number to me.
Rain, cabbage rolls, hmmmmmmm, lol could beat the show on the balcony in SAT, LOL. Tee hee. Were gonna have a great time:eek: Upon Hanks approval, I promise to have a rough schedule up in the next week. Need time to settle back in from vacation and get ready for school here;)

Well, as long as the thread is now "hodge podge". I really do love Hanks new Avatar!
What do you all think. The cabbage may have gone his way, LOL;) Seriously, it's great!
Gosh darn am I pooped! Must have walked a 100's of miles this week! My INR was not too bad. 4.0. Little high....but nothing majorly off considering I did whatever I wanted. Had 4-5 saldas and high K foods. Few tropical drinks here and there leveled me off just fine!. Yipee. Have come to the conclusion that living life like a real person is possible on Coumadin if you can find what works for you!

I am interested in seeing the schedule because I live in Madison WI which is 3 hours northwest of Chicago O'Hare. I will try to visit the good ol bunch on Saturday or Sunday if possible but will for now be a non attendee pending further analyis of status and depending on the my review of my horoscope....

September 1st, 2003, 11:22 PM
Hi Robert,
Hope it's all "in the stars" for you.:) Most of our time is usually less formal. At this point, it looks like......for those interested we will be taking the train from the hotel/O'Hare area on Saturday 10/11 downtown Chicago. Navy Pier, John Hancock, etc. For Sunday....we are looking into having a late AM brunch. Then departures, etc. The beauty of staying in an atrium hotel...makes gathering just to chat very nice.
It's going to take us a bit longer to get things together here. Hang in there.

I made a reservation for friday and saturday at the hotel as they said I could stay with Dottie in my room. She is my 10 yr old companion and is a Dalmation. I dont know if I could make it friday as I must be at a seminar in the morning but hope to at least come by saturday for a nite to meet and greet. Will keep up to date as time nears. $89 room rate is very good. rz

That's great Robert! More and more hotels are catering to pets. Just came back from FL. Hotel we were at had room service for pets! Would even take them out for a walk. Actually, I found more for pets than young childern. As they are an extension of the family......maybe I will bring my kitty to the reunion;) How do you think Dottie will like that?:D
PS. If you will be bringing your cell phone. Please PM me your number. Plan to have a list together for members attending.
Thanks

Gina,
Since you relaxed the rules of the thread, is "atrium" a euphamism for "bar out in open"? If so, excellent choice of hotels.
Here's another activity we could do. I grew up about 5 miles from the hotel (if that). We could go to my old grade school (St. Priscilla - honest) and watch the nuns rap the kids' knuckles, assuming they still do that and assuming there still are nuns.
Janie, if you're really nice, we'll get you an Italian Beef with sweet peppers soaked in juice or cheese fries from Franksville. We'll even schedule the angioplasty!

"We could go to my old grade school (St. Priscilla - honest) and watch the nuns rap the kids' knuckles"
Memories........it was second grade with the knuckle rap for me. Only dropped my pencil. Yep, those nuns were ruthless! (and how fitting) our daughter starts the 2nd grade tomorrow. Only not in a catholic school. They are educationally relaxed and very low on resources these days in IL.
Paul, if you have any suggestions for daytime activities....please bring them on! We have Friday open. Trying to figure out what we can plan and make it back to burbs for the main dinner. You recall friday rush hour don't you? LOL. From my past experience....we don't have any issues making our own fun too! If all else fails....there is always Shoeless Joe's. Check the link below.
Hey, where is our old friend Bob Gleason? Won't be the same without you.

Just looking thorough and saw that I did not respond to this one yet (been out of town).
Not sure if my wife and daughter will be in town that weekend (might be a college campus visit weekend) so put me down for one definite for dinner, and if there is a second one I will let you know ASAP.

You are as funny as A Barrel full of Monkeys:p :p :p So, that's what is in the barrel? Moonshine? Here's my recipe for Home Brew...Chase wild bullfrogs for three miles to gather up hops. To them, add ten gallons of tan bark 1/2pint of shellac, an' one bar of homemade soap. Boil 36 hours, then strain through an I.W.W. sock to keep it frum workin' Add one grasshopper to each pint to give it a kick. Pour a little into the kitchen sink, if it takes the enamel off, it's ready to bottle....:p :p You and Les will have a smashin good time:DBonnie

Hi Gina,
Sorry about getting this thread off-track in the first place, but now I'll use it for it's intended purpose. Ray and I will definitely be there, so please add (2) for dinner (if you don't already have us on the list). I just called and reserved our room. She said it was the only one left for the $89 rate, did she really mean it was the very last room
We will be leaving from here around 8am Friday morning, and I guess it's about a 7. 5 hour drive. So... we should for sure make it by dinner time. If not, I guess we'll find y'all in the lounge, right? :D
Haven't figured out what to do with the kiddies while we're gone yet, but hopefully they can each find a friend to spend the weekend with.

Gina,
I read the posts on the reunion dinner and thought it was too late to get in on it. If it's not, please count me in for 2. My husband Glenn doesn't know it yet, but I'm dragging him along! His response when I told him about the dinner was "Great, I thing YOU should go." He whined enough about not being inmy Avatar picture, I thought I'd get him some face time!
I've been trying to read up on the reunion. Anything specific I should know?

Unfortunately, I cannot make the dinner tonight, as my wife will be having our new baby any day now, and is not feeling great today. She needs me at home. If there is a charge for my spot, please let me know and I will reimburse you. Thanks. I'm sorry I won't meet everyone. Have a great time.
