Jennie posted on 6/24 that she was having problems with the system tracking of read and unread posts. I am also having a lot of problem with this, especially when I can't read everything marked unread during one login session. The result is that I haven't been able to keep up very well with all the posts and have surely missed things that I would have really wanted to have read and responded to, and I imagine probably also things that might even have been addressed to me or my previous responses. I know this may be a tall order to adjust, but since I didn't see any responses to Jennie's post I was wondering if anything could be or is being done about it. Has anyone else had this problem? Hank, is there anything that can be done? Thanks.

Are you clicking on the link on the upper right of the screen that reads "View New Posts"?
I am afraid that with the increased volume of users that we are experiencing, it is going to be next to impossible to read every single post on the forum like the old days.
Reply and explain to me exactly what you want it to do and I'll let you know if it's possible.
In the mean time, Keep reading!

I'm glad you found that feature - it definately makes it easy for me. Read the "Read New Posts" link and then when you are done, click on the "Home" button and in the lower right of the screen, click on "Mark All Posts as Read" That sets them all as read so that next time you come back, you can view only the new ones.

Thanks Hank.
Yes, I have been using the 'View New Posts' feature since the beginning and it works great.
The problem is that if I can't read all the new posts that I would like to during that session, the ones that I don't get a chance to read don't remain on the list when I log on the next time. In other words, there are posts that I don't open from the New Posts list and it seems that they should remain as unread until I open them individually. But it seems that, once they have been listed during one session and I log off without reading them, they apparently are considered already read. I hope this is clear.
I know I can't read all the posts and there are many that I con't need to, but it would be nice to be able to somehow keep track from session to session of those I haven't read yet that I would like to. If it's too much trouble, I understand, but I think it would be a great feature if possible.
Otherwise, everything else is great and many thanks again Hank.

Unless you click the "Mark All Forums As Read", the new posts that you haven't read should remain on the "View New Posts" listing. If they are not and you are not clicking the "Mark All Forums As Read" link, let me know. Don't know if I can do anything about it, but I will at least look into it.

Indeed, I am not clicking "Mark All Forums As Read" and the new posts that I haven't read do not remain on the "View New Posts" listing. It just happened again when I logged on for this session. Dozens of posts that were listed when I logged in this morning but which I did not read are no longer listed as unread.
Don't worry about it if it's too much trouble, but if it is reasonably fixable, that would be great. Sorry to put you through all this trouble on top of what you are already doing. Thanks.

It's no problem at all. I will see what I can find.
