I'm 'avereging ' 118 pulse after 13 days of 'mechanical valve' replacement (aeortic).
Why do I get the feeling that it's too high?
My doctor says that it is normal 'for the circumstances' that it will subside gradually over time.
THX again 4 the link & God Bless

Hi Marco-
Your doctor is right and it will settle down. It's all normal. Enjoy your "revved up" feeling.

Yeap, it's a normal part of the healing process. Mine decided to go tachy during rehab. I forget how fast I was clocked, but it had the Doctor worried. Not so much the speed, but the pressure that came along with it.

Hi Marco!
Your highter pulse rate is completely normal after surgery. It will eventually settle down. Mine did the same after my surgery. It seems like your recovery is going pretty smoothly. I hope everything continues to go well. Your story is truely amazing.
Take Care!
Gail
