Hi Martha,
Once you sign on using a computer using your name and password the information is stored on that computer unless you sigh out when you are done. Lets say you go over to your mothers computer and sign in using your name and password. It then stores this information in a cookie on her computer and next time you sign on it knows who you are. Hope this helps.
