You might check out US news list of best hospitals for heart surgery: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/health/best-hospitals/rankings/specihqcard.htm

Baylor in Dallas, Texas Heart Institute in Houston and Methodist in Houston are all listed.
Many members on the forum have traveled for second opinions and surgery.
Best wishes,
Phyllis

Phyllis,
Thank you so much for your reply. I have actually been corresponding with Dr. David Ott at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston. I have been absolutely amazed that he has answered me immediately every time and appears to be so knowledgeable. However, I was just looking to see if there was the same exertise in Austin, as it would be closer for me and my family.
Thank you for the assistance,
Terry

I had my aortic valve replaced almost a year ago at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. I would recommend my surgeon, Dr. Rick Hebeler, he was amazing. I have felt better than I have felt in a long time. His website is www.drhebeler.com. You can email him from there. He is not only skilled, but has an amazing bedside manner. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sorry not to answer your question. HOwever, if you decide to travel, I as well as a number of people on this site had excellent experiences with and highly recommend Dr. William Ryan at Presbyterian in Dallas.
