Following is a message that I hope one of my vr.com buddies will reply to. Use e-mail replies as I am posting this for Dave and he doesn't know who we are yet.

Here's the message:

I have been a member of the Mended Hearts for 11 years. I had a mitral *
valve replacement on November 21, 1991 (Baxter Tissue Heart Valve - *
model 6625).*

I have been told my the doctors that the valve is now starting to leak, *
and that I should start planning to have another surgery in the next 60 *
days.*

Here is my request for help:*

(1) Is it possible to find a member in our organization that has had a *
"biological-valve" and then elected a "mechanical-valve" - I know that *
there is a quality of life change, but would like to speak "first-hand" *
to someone who has experienced both*
*
(2) Is there a good source of information on the life style restrictions *
if I choose a mechanical valve (and then are on a *
daily-Coumiden-regime)?*
