Just kind of hung out at home today, until it was time for my first HOME walk. We had to wait until 4 because of the neighbor girl's school schedule. She is walking our big lab and my wife the gentler Golden.

What a GORGEOUS DAY here in Virginia!! If only they would all be like this,

Anyway, while I did 3/4 of mile total yesterday, bumming around the hallways of the hospital, I decided that I would start my walking program here a bit less. Ended up doing 700 yards (a little bit shy of 1/2 mile) and I did it at a VERY slow pace. I would let them get way ahead of me, then they'd come back and they would start leaving me in the dust again - ha. I carried my pulse oximeter with me and my HR never got above 94 (O2 was about the same reading). We got to the halfway point for me and stopped and chatted with a friend for about a half hour, but I really liked that because the sun felt so da-gum GOOD. So the total time outside was one hour. I'll do the math for you -- that means I was walking at about one mile per hour

Came home and watched the last episode of LOST that I had TiVo'd.

Sounds like you did GREAT! Stay active and build it up slowly and you should be walking the dog in no time.

Way to go Der. I got out today and managed 7 minutes of slow walking but signed up for cardiac rehab starting a week from Friday. It was an absolutely georgeous day in Eugene Oregon today. My tulips are in bloom the lawn was mowed (by my husband, not me) and it just keeps getting better.

These sunny days do nothing but encourage us to get outside!
Take good care,
Kristy

yes, you DID listen. Glad you're not trying to set the world on fire. Everything's still going to be there when you get to it. Let your shaved body heal at its own pace.
