Pat must really like the Cleveland Clinic. Or the clinic must really like him. He hasn't been discharged yet. I asked when that might happen, and the surgeon's nurse if she could forsee what Pat would do next, she'd go to Vegas. He's just special, I guess!!!;)
Just some bumps in the road...but the road is still headed toward recovery. There is some good news, he had another echo yesterday and his regurgitation has actually improved a bit. (The surgeon said that it might.) I don't know the number, but I saw the echo, and it said "trivial".
He's in ICU right now, but that's just a precaution. They're watching him as he responds to a new medicine to control his heart rate. He'll be back on a regular floor today, God willing, and will be posting himself before we know it.
Emotionally, he's doing great. He's a rock and I'm taking my cues from him (almost all the time:o )
just wanted to update all you wonderful people.

Just yesterday, someone asked on another thread if Pat was home yet.
I'm glad you let us know what's going on. We don't rest until everyone is successfully released from the hospital, and sometimes, not even then!
Hang in there Patti!

Patti,
He's had such a long journey but what's going on now sounds precautionary. Stay strong, and we'll keep praying that Pat will be out of there and into his at-home recovery very soon.

I see a lot of positive things going on with Pat. They may be very small steps, but that's how it starts out, little steps in the right direction. Before you know it, he'll be ready for discharge. Sometimes I do believe they drag out the discharging to make sure everything is stable before sending someone home. It can seem like forever, but trust me when I say that it is the very best way.
Joe is one who, once he gets into the hospital, they seem to want to keep him there for eternity. There have been times when he's insisted on going home, and guess what--he goes right back in after a short period of time.
Better to have ALL the testing and studies done. Then you both will have confidence that he'll be OK.

I am sorry to hear that Pat is still in the hospital but happy that the CC seems to be taking all steps necessary to keep him healthy. So much nicer to hear than a hospital throwing you out after so many days. ;)
Please tell him we are still watching his progress and waiting for that "I'm Home" post.
Take care of yourself too.

I know it is hard on you and Pat to hang around CC. It is like Chinese water torture, sitting around that hospital (even with CNN :D )! As the other have stated the hospital is the best place for him now to make sure he is stable.
If something gets a little of whack, you will be glad you’re at CC and not at home wondering when something acts up if you should go to the ER.
My best to you both. :)

...not to forget the fort! Won't he just love his little added surprise once he gets home. You see, his heart will need to be its strongest. ;)
I am so sorry he has been delayed. Stay strong! Easier said than done, but seeing you for those several days, I know you can do it.

Just wondering if Pat is home and recovering. I've checked in from time to time over the past week and haven't seen any postings.
