a fat, undercooked one at that!

From the top of my stomach down, I am really gross -- never looked so fat, even when I weighed 50 lbs more than I do now!

My legs are VERY puffy, even with having them raised for a couple of hours this afternoon.

The good news is that I am NOW only 4 lbs heavier than when I went in, instead of the 13 lbs I was just a day or two ago.

Perhaps they could sell it as a weight loss plan!

I remember having basically the same thoughts. Geez, I figured I would lose weight after the battle. Gained something like 7 or 8. Now 10 days later, I''ve lost 16 pounds. Lasix works for me --- not to mention the fact that I have no appetite. Cheerios is about all I can handle temporarily. Give yourself another few days. You will get back to normal.

Der,

I was up almost 25lbs after my ohs!!! My wife said she hardly knew me when she came in ICU! After two weeks of Lasix and 5238 trips to the bathroom all is back to normal:) .

Take it easy and enjoy your recovery.

Ann -- yes all fluid - sure couldn't be the hospital food. Knowing that they are grading you on how much you eat, several times I snuck into the bathroom and flushed it all down the toilet!. Really it was pretty awful food.

Yes, they gave me Lasix in the hospital and am taking my old regimen of Bumex here at home. I think I am zeroing in on my pre-op weight (maybe 3 lbs heavier now) - but honestly I still look 50 lbs heavier. No stomach muscles at all, causing a real big "beer gut" and fat legs.
