Six years ago today I was wheeled into surgery for a double valve replacement with a couple of new St. Jude's mechanicals. As of today they are clickin' away just fine. Right now I'm thinking more about the two rounds of golf I played this past weekend and my loving, supportive wife and awesome family. Next Wednesday we also celebrate 31 years of marriage! April seems to be a magical month for many of us here, including the incredible Mr. Hank, Creator of vr.com! I don't appear much anymore, but I do check in once in awhile to see who's up to what. Hope everyone had a great Easter. Cheers!

sounds like you are an old hand at this -- and I guess things have changed quite a lot in the last six years. For instance - you didn't say if you had any bypasses done, but listen to this. They took 3 veins from my right calf and my incision is only about 1", up at the top of the inside of the calf. ZERO pain with it today (5 days post op). I understand that just as little as two years ago, they were still cutting the whole calf down to get veins.

Anyway, congrats on your success and anniversary.

PERRY!!!!!!!!!!

Holy cow what timing you have, my friend! I was just thinking about you the other day ... as I happened to catch a NASCAR race and saw your relatives racing....and then, of course, listening to the Cubs....

CONGRATULATIONS on your 6-year anniversary!!!!

Sure would be nice to see you again ... maybe Gina and I could try another game of pool using your table ;).

Wow, Perry!

Good going -- and we wish you many times that and more!

Good to hear from you again, old friend. You were one of the first to welcome me here, and I will remember you (and all the others, of course) forever for your compassion for new members.

Hearing first-hand of the successes of others sure helps those of us still waiting our turns.

Thanks again, and lots more good luck to you!

(P.S. Maybe Cort has an idea, Chicagoans. . . )

I'd like to think so ;).

I know those of us at achaheart.org are considering a gathering, too. I mentioned to them (and now mentioning to ya'll) about the CHD Golf Outing in Sandwich IL in September ... yeah, that's a bit "far off", but it is something to consider, anyway....

I'm all for getting together in May ;).

Hi Perry,

Wow, 6 big ones. Congratulations. Many many more!

I don't make it to VR.com as often as I would like. That's just life.

Take care...and drop us a note. Give our best to Kathie.

Hi Perry,

Congradulations on your 6 years! It sounds like you are doing wonderful. I remember when we met at the Nashville reunion a few years ago. It sure was a great time sitting by the waterfall at the Opreyland hotel and discussing all our surgical adventures.

I hope you have many more fantastic years ahead.

btw..Sorry for not writing earlier, guess I missed your posting a few days ago. If ever I travel to the Windy City.. I'll be sure to write you before and perhaps we could catch up over a cold one.

I hate to "brag" about anything, but my wish would be to give a glimmer of hope to anyone who might read my post.

Cort, please post the link about that golf outing. I peered at it last year, but lost it. I may consider entering, depending on the date. Do you also play the game of pasture pool?

Thanks again everybody...Der Biermeister, Mary, Ross, Karlynn, Kathleen, dj/utvolsfan, fyrfytr Dave, geebee, Doug, Christina, Steve, Ben, Gina, Rob and Nancy.

See ya 'round. :)

Heh...no, no I don't. I went last year to meet up with some of the "mother hens" I had met on a CHD Webring (Yahoo groups). I posted pics from that event ... it was really a blast.

Anyway, per your request:
