I've looked but can't seem to find any post about how she did.

Went in and came out the other side -- ! I haven't been a member on this site for long and even had the wrong surgery date on signature, so can't blame anyone for not knowing! However, I had tons of support here and am quite amazed at how well I am doing.

Aortic valve replaced last Thursday; in ICU for 3 days due to a lack of beds on the cardiac floor, discharged today (day 4). Dr. Slater implanted a 23mm Edwards, modle 3000TFX. Day one was a blur; two was like a truck hit me; three was manageable, especially after a shower and head scrub and four was all about getting home.:o

My family, coworkers and church family kept up by checking for posts on my caring brigde site, a site that a friend set up to keep everyone informed. I am greatly relieved to have gotten this surgery, hope my heart continues to heal well and continue to move forward.;)

I had excellent care at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). I asked for lots of warm blankets (because I could and because others on this site recommended it) and shared my Easter goodies with the nurses (actually gave it to them, not real hungry).

I am so thankful to be through this experience and to be doing so well so early.

Take care everyone,
Peace.

I am impressed!!! 4 days. Using your starting point (the day of waking), I was in 4 1/2 days. I think you NOW hold the record, and you sound great - VERY upbeat -- just like everyone said about me.

And I think I found out a bit more about my valve with YOUR description. All I knew was it was a Model 3000

Welcome home Kristy. Sounds like your surgery went great and I hope your recovery is as "boring".;) :D ;)
Don't overdo, listen to your doctors, and be sure and let people pamper you.

Thank you all for the support. I had a massage therapist over to my home tonight to work on my shoulder. I think the positioning of my arms during surgery caused a nerve impingment; my right hand was numb for a couple of days and shoulder and upper arm ached badly. This gal just gave me a hour of attention (used Topricin CT cream) and it feels so much better. So, I am taking care of myself and it feels right and good! All is good thus far.

Feeling so blessed,
Kristy
