Hey, Ross -

I WAS going to sing Happy Birthday to You, but while I practiced, it brought the entire internet down in my neighborhood and all the gamers were out looking for me. . .

So my friend (and sometimes accomplice!), a very, very Happy Birthday to You, and may you have so many more that you lose count of them!

My friend Bert Marian, a Jew who converted to B’Hai faith, introduced me to the concept that we are all called/sent to be where we are needed most.

The Christian faith has a story of a man named Saul who persecuted Christians. One day Saul was struck blind. When he recovered he underwent a complete conversion and became the second-most important Christian figure. Ross has told us on this website of his previous life experiences. He was not persecuting Christians, but I think that he was persecuting himself. One day, illness struck Ross. Valve replacement surgery was his equivalent of being struck blind.

Ross had some talents in the computer field in this prior portion of his life. He was able to help people, but continuing on the track that he was, it seems unlikely that he would have ever reached international status as a computer technician. The Christian faith has a story of Jesus taking meager resources (loaves and fishes) and distributing them so that 5,000 people were able to eat their fill. After his valve replacement surgery, Ross was able to take his computer skills and fill the needs of thousands of people.

Ross seemed to resist this calling, though. God had to have his transportation give out, afflict him with the need for continual oxygen to make it hard to get around and even cause him to have insomnia to get him to stay at his appointed place.

The Navajo tradition has a healing ceremony called the Blessingway (or Beautyway) that lasts for nine days. As the sun arises on the Sunday morning of the last day the final blessing is given:
May there be Beauty in front of you.
May there be Beauty above you.
May there be Beauty behind you.
May there be Beauty below you.
May you always walk in Beauty, Ross.

Al, that was beautiful what you said about Ross. I sincerely believe that God uses us to His glory if we let Him. That's the trick, to let Him and Ross has.

Thanks Ross for being there for us. You will never know how many times your words have helped me and many others on this forum.

Ross, "Happy Birthday" to a great human being and may you have many, many more.

God Bless.

Al that was sooooo lovely what you wrote!!

AND I totally agree with you with the philosophy for all of us - that there is a reason for our existence.

However, that Ross (BY THE WAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSS!) has helped SO many people on this site. He is truly being used by God.

I am sending the Navajo blessing to you, also, Ross. You are special and I love you!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND MAY THE COMING YEAR BRING RENEWED HEALTH AND MUCH, MUCH HAPPINESS!!!

I just wanted to quickly post and wish you the happiest of birthdays Ross, and hope you will post some nice birthday pics taken with your new digital camera. I am truly sorry that I haven't been up to posting much, but as you know something horrible has happened and I have NEVER been this upset and sad in my life, and I am hoping that I can start to recover from the shock of it all...anyway, I want to again wish you the happiest of birthdays, and I hope you and your family do something really special together today to celebrate...Happy Birthday buddy!!! Thank you everyone. It's been a long day of doing absolutely nothing. I seem to have gotten 20 deflowered virgins from a certain party here, so I'll have to snap a picture and post it as soon as I can. I really appreciate all of you no matter how badly I get on some of your nerves. Thanks for putting up with me all these years. :)
