Just realized .... the two year anniversary of my valve repair was Sunday.

Yes, it was Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004. President's Day was the weekend of the 14th and 15th that year. I worried a bit that the hospital staff might not be at top speed over a long holiday but needn't have. Nobody could have gotten better care than I did.

Last year, I was in France on Feb. 12. This year, didn't even think about it until just now.

I really don't think about my heart much at all these days. Even the diagnosis of atrial flutter this summer and the resultant need to be on coumadin hasn't really affected my life much. Next month we'll be back in France again.

Just wanted to thank this board for all the help I got when I was going through all that. In the immortal words of [somebody]--couldn't have done it without your help and concern.

Congratulations, Marge.
You were going through recovery when I joined. It doesn't seem like it's been two years.:)

Hi Marge. Boy has that 2 years gone by fast! I'm glad things are going well with you even through you ended up on warfarin. That is just one of those things. I was thinking about you the other day when several people unsuccessfully tried to draw blood from me and I remembered what a difficult time you have with IV sticks. I don't remember if you ended up getting a home monitor or not but at times like that I really appreciate my machine.

I hope all continues to go well for you and that you keep enjoying life with your fixed heart.

Congratulations on your second anniversary. And even more congratulations that you temporarily "forgot" it! You are doing so well that you are back to a normal lifestyle without being concerned about your heart...that is great! Enjoy France.
