Wow things get pretty wild fast. The pills the nurses vists. You really do not have much time to think about anything. What is the best way to keep ones pills organized. I also will be asking a lot of questions about this coumadin stuff. I read so much before but now I am kinda taken back by it all. Thanks again for your help. Back to walking a little.

I think they keep us busy so we don't have time to think about pain and recovery.;) :D Things will get easier.

I use a pill organizer like the one below. I got mine at Sam's but Amazon.com shows similar ones. I love it and it has helped me many times to remember if I took my pills or not.

Best of luck to you.

How are you doing? You might try a pill box-inexpensive at most pharmacies.
You can fill it for a week at a time with 4 time a day slots. That way you just have to remember to check the box for your next dose of meds.
I put my list on the puter along with spaces for daily wt and temp. Each time I took meds, I checked them off and recorded the vitals as well.
Hope this helps.

A pill box- monthly or weekly is definitely the way to go- you can find them in any pharmacy. Dick only takes one medication/twice a day and we use a weekly box. Our only problem is having him remember to check the box to see if he took the pill- I still have to remind him!:D

A few years ago my husband had to take a pill 4 times a day for his thyroid. I got him a little pill box but he kept forgetting to take his pills. We then thought of setting the alarm on his mobile phone to beep when he needed to take a pill. On some phones you may need to re set the alarm each time you take your pill but on ours we were able to schedule the alarm to ring at the required time, (4 times each day). Thankfully his thyroid went back to normal and he's off the pills...but for ages afterwards his phone alarm would beep to remind him as he couldn't remember how to unset it!

tking pills can be a pain. I use the 7 day one where I put my pills in each day for the week. I take 3 a.m. and the rest at night, but you can get the ones for 3/4 times per day. I got mine at WalMart. Check in the pharmacy dept. Ask your pharmacist for advice if you can't decide.

Glad you made it back upstairs. Shows progress. It will all fall into place given time.

Hi, I have been watching for you to appear somewhere since we had our surgery the same day. How are you.? I also had trouble keeping track of meds and I'm a nurse. My husband had to keep track of the pain meds by writing them down for me and my routine meds we bought a pill box for.

Glad to hear you are up and walking around!
