Just wondering if anyone has tried Hoodia to control appetite and how it affected their INR. I have put on about 30 lbs since surgery because I still can't excercise like I used to and wanted to give this supplement a try. I realize it is probably another miracle supplement that turns out to be less than advertized but what the heck? (that is unless it messes up my coumadin levels).

Thanks in Advance!!!!

This link alone should settle the question for you:

Personally I think you should stay far away from any of these types of supplements when using Coumadin. Just my opinion. 30lbs isnt enough to warrant jeopardizing your health over.

I, too, have gained about 25 lbs..since my surgery. Coming up 4 years in March..My excuse:p Grandson got older....Not chasing him around, ect... I tried dieting one time..messed up my INR..have to eat.. normally to keep it in range...I have noticed, I have lost a few pounds lately....by leaving off bread and sweets.. I walk a lot..but do not over do exercise... I am age 65 and really noticed my body hurting the next day.:( Not worth the pain.)Cardio says to walk hard for 30 minutes..3 times a week for heart.....I do that..and realize, I'll never be a size 10 again..:D ...I only take coumadin..and no other meds, supplements, ect.....Bonnie

The funniest part about Ross' link is that when you go there, there are ads to spend $139 on the stuff right next to the article saying that it is a scam.

It should probably be named Hoodwinkia!
