Well Today was the big-day of the appointment with the kids cardioligist Luigi.

He is lovely, kids were there usual ratbaggy selves and played up as only 3 boys would :( .

Matt was "cleared of a coarctation" which is EXCELLENT news, but he still has a BAV and a mildly enlarged root of about 3.3. He will be monitored yearly.

Ben was cleared of everything except for a trace of mitral regurg. which will be rechecked in 5 years.

Steve has a BAV and mild Aortic Insuficciency which will be monitored yearly and his ascending aorta is also sligtly enlarged at about 3.0.

All 3 DO NOT appear to have any Marfan characteristics at this stage and he doubts they will develop any...

So all in all a good result...

This guy is one of the most highly sought-after paeiatric cardios in Perth, so I trust his judgement even the medical people send their kids to see Luigi :D .

So now we only have to worry about me..*phew*

Great visit Mom! I'm so glad you liked the cardio so much. I think finding a good doctor is half the battle.

I'm sure I'd be dancing too!! That does sound like good news to me! You can't change what has been found, but having strong faith in the doctor is so important, and that their numbers are manageable for now is so good. Sounds like all 3 boys can go about their day to day in a normal way now.

And yes, it is time to concentrate on their mother!! Be good to yourself!

Hi there Tonia, I remember you telling me during chat that you were going to take your sons to see the cardio, and I'm really happy to hear that everything went well for them. My Bruna has mitral valve prolapse and has to have an echo done every year even though the doctor said I've nothing to worry about. She goes to the same cardio as me. When will you be seeing yours? Get in touch for a nice chat and make sure those wee guys find the mike so that we can voice chat too!! LOL!! Take care!!

Hi there Debora!:D ...
those ratbag boys of mine have pinched my headset...and now I have to find it in their messy-rooms! ....

its all peaceful now for a few hours while they are at school...I shall hunt this mic down and install it so I am all ready next time I spot you on-line...

All the hectic busy mentally draining stuff has passed now i hope and we only have me left to worry about...

Bruna will do so well with her MVP especially with you for her mum , youre a great mum Debora, and a shining example to many of us here with your warm smile.

ooops next time i will remember to use a larger font!

its a lovely sunny day today and I think gardening is on the agenda.

bye for now

Great news!! I've been holding my breath for you and your boys. So good that you can let go a bit and focus on your own health. But hope you'll keep us posted on all developments. Love your angle on it all!
