Hi Everyone,

I had my CT scans this week, and was waiting until next Weds to see my doctor and review them. The waiting for the results was always on my mind, but I said to myself " At least the hospital didn't call me on the phone and say..."Get yourself into the hospital fast"! The other game my mind played was that usually the doctor calls me and says, " No change since the last CT, There really isn't any need to come in unless you want to". He never called, and that was on my mind all week. Well, Cristi and I came home last night, and there it was... a message on my phone from my doctor... "Hi Rob, Just wanted to let you know that there is no change in your CT from the last one, No need to come in, but I want you to reschedule a CT for 1 year from now for us to look at again. WHEW !!!!! What a relief. As many of you know, I had an ascending aortic dissection, and after the emergency surgery, they found several areas that are "small" aneurysms" that require watching. Well, that was 2 years ago, and IT was so good to get such good news! No Change!

I woke up this morning.. stretched out in bed, reached over to the phone, and replayed that message from my doctor. <smile> I had to hear it one more time on this special day.

It has been a morning of reflcetion for me, a quiet one, and just wanted to thank Hank and everyone on this site for the advise and guidence that I received post surgery. Knowing that you are not alone with your issues is a comfort, and gaining knowledge and support from everyone on here provides me and all of us with more information that we usually get from our visit to the doctor. I strongly feel that the more we know about our condition, the better we are to manage it with our doctors.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Cristi and I have invited all the friends that spent that long day with her in the ER waiting room, while I was undergoing my emergency surgery to go out with us tonight and celebrate. We going to The Bourbon Street Blues Club in Nashville, for some dancing and great music!

Life is good!

Hey, sounds like great fun!
Glad all tests showed normal. After my aneurism repair I didn't have CT scans. Only a echo done yearly, at first up and down my aorta, but now just on the valves.

Hi Rob,

Happy Anniversary!!!

The good news your received yesterday is certainly reason to celebrate. When you and your friends go out tonight, don't worry about the "2 drink limit."

I guess the only person as happy as you are today is Christi. :) :)

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all so much for your good wishes! Reading everyones posts got me all teary eyed, but I guess we are all used to that experince. If you are like me, it seems I get more emotional about everything since my surgery.

Cristi and I had a wonderful night last night... The band ....well.. how can I say.... hmmm.. simply.. the band kicked butt! They are one of the best upbeat blues bands that I have ever heard! If any of you ever get to visit Nashville again, I hope you get a chance to see them. ohh... you better be sure to let me know that you are coming.. I would never pass up the chance to be with good friends and listen to a great band! Besides, that is why I am not telling you the name of the band.. You'll have to contact me for that!

Ya know, this is truly a family, yes we all have our moments.. but, as in a family, we let the conflicts pass, and continue to be a unit, sharing information and caring for each other. Truly a give and take relationship.. I still learn so much from everyone on here, especially the newer members that take more time than the rest of us to research new advancements.. and post them for all to see! As for the others that have been here for some time.. It provides comfort knowing that life after surgery can go on, and on , and on... just like the Eveready battery bunny! hehehehe..
Reminded me of a joke about that bunny if you put the batteries in backwords... <bush>

Thanks again everyone, and Hank.. Thank you for your vision to start such a wonderful, educational and personal site for us all!

I hope that eveyone makes an effort to come to the next reunion.. It is truly a wonderful experience. Hank.. could you imagine having 365+ of us show up? WHEW!!!

Hey Rob

I almost missed congratulating you - I don't check 'Heartalk' every day for obvious reasons so didn't realise till tonight that you were celebrating 2 years.

Keep playing those ivories for many more to come.

Very warmed to hear that all is well with the CT follow up scan.

I thought about your check-up a couple times since I missed out catching up with you when I was in Nashville earlier this month.

Just though I would chime in with my congrats Rob.
