At three days his heart decided to beat like a locomotive at 150 beats per minute. It didn't quit by the next morning so they had to shock his heart so it would beat right. He is out of the intensive care unit as of yesterday and feeling great. Both his lungs and his heart are doing fine. With the pain meds he continues to be tired but is in great spirits. This morning he was up and walking a few steps with a little help. He tells me that he continues to have more energy. Thanks for all your prayers and encouragement. :)

I'm glad George is out of intensive care and I feel fortunate to have escaped his experience with the runaway train heartrate. :)

Thanks for the update. I hope he is walking more tomorrow and that the rest of his recovery is uneventful. Please extend our best wishes and I hope that you rest peacefully tonight.

Boy, was his heart angry at having all that done to it!!! Glad you got it undercontrol. Are they sending him home with any meds for it?

Get him home so he can heal....it's the best place to be.

Thanks for keeping us posted. I'm thinking that his heart got so excited seeing Dr. Starr again that it was trying to show off!!

So glad he's making good progress. I know it must be harder than usual to get him up and walking with his muscular dystrophy, so it's good to hear that he is up and about. That he already feels he has more energy is a great sign. I know he was feeling more and more tired before the surgery. All good things!!

Keep up the good work, George! Looking forward to hearing more good news! Best wishes.

:) Marguerite
