Hi im about to have the ross procedure so wont need to take any blood thinning medication.. should i wear a medi alert bracelet anyway? Or would this be unnessesary?
Im 17 so have alot more mischief to get up to in life :D

Jess, see these threads - lots of opinions on MedicAlert bracelets there. Not really sure about the Ross Procedure, but from http://www.cts.usc.edu/rossprocedure.html it looks like a fairly significant op. You may want to ask your cadiologist whether MedicAlert would be helpful.

BTW, hope to be in Freo in Jan/Feb - my wife's cousin lives in Jarrahdale and her aunt in Kelmskott. We normally rent a unit in Freo - walking distance from the strip (but rather noisy as it right where the highway comes in). Great to get away from UK in our cold and miserable season! :D

Your surgeon or cardio will probably provide recommendation one way or the other as to whether you should wear one or not. I do and dont find it a drama and there is the peace of mind knowing that should you (god forbid) be involved in an accident and are unable to communicate any medical attention you receive will at least be made aware of your situation as they can ring the Medic Alert foundation and instantly be updated with medical history / info they retain on their database.
