It will be a year tomorrow that my sister, Jackie was murdered. Many of you remember. It is so ironic that her murderer is to be sentenced tomorrow on the last of the charges - her murder. He already has about 140 yrs to serve for the other charges, consecutively. The family will be there and some will speak as family victims. I was subpoenaed but I just can't do it. Remember us tomorrow if you will, please. It will be hard but it will also be some sort of finish and then we can move past this particular part of the crime. Thank you all.

Ann,
You have my prayers tomorrow and always. I cannot even imagine what you are going through but I have 2 sisters who mean the world to me. Experiences such as yours make me remember to take the time to appreciate them (even the negative).
I hope your family has some closure with the sentencing tomorrow. God will be with you.

Ann,
I wish I were close by, so I could give you a hug. I don't know if it would help you, but it would make feel better.
You are in my thoughts and prayers as you cope with tomorrow's events.

Lots of prayers coming your way. I hope this is some sort of closure for you. Having lost my oldest sister when she was only 49, I know what a loss this is and I also know that you will remember her every day for the rest of your life. God bless!

I can't believe it has been a year already. I still remember the post from Ross - somewhat mysterious in nature, just asking for prayers for you and your family. And then you filled us in on the devastating news. My heart ached for you then, and it aches for you now. The timing of the sentencing hearing tomorrow is uncanny, but I hope it helps to bring some sort of closure for you and your family............although it will never fill the void. My sister has been dead for almost fourteen years now, and I still miss her terribly. I, along with many others on here, will definitely be thinking of you tomorrow. Please "feel" our love for you when the going gets rough. You will be in our prayers. Many hugs. Janet

Ann, I will be thinking of and pray for you and your family tomorrow. While nothing can take away the pain of this man's crime, perhaps the sentencing will provide a little piece of closure to this nightmare.
Thanks for your support and caring for all of us who are going through our own trials and tribulations....

Eight of us went early this morning - 9:00 as stated in my subpoena. Seems they were only going to select a jury today (at 1 p.m.) but nobody told us that. So we left til tomorrow. The court tells me that when there is a death penalty involved there must be a jury seated, even tho he confessed several times. The 'trial' starts tomorrow and is scheduled for two days. We didn't know this at all. We thought we'd just go in, there would be a sentence and we'd all go home. I guess they will present all the facts (which I don't even know because I wouldn't let anyone tell me details) and will take testimony. Because it's a trial, maybe that's why they subpoenaed me, but when I protested, they let me out of it. Jackie's sons (2 of them) and one other family member will be called to testify, that we know of, but I don't know why because they weren't there, either. It's all very confusing. Please continue to keep us in mind. When it's done, I will tell you about it. I hope nobody I know ever has to go through something like this. I am afraid it's going to be bad before it's over.
Thank you, all of you.

Stay home..Plant fall flowers, ect..You don't need to be there.. to listen to stories, ect.....Let your children tell you..what you want to hear..and nothing else...You will just get too nervous..and upset when his lawyer starts up..Served on many Juries..and they will (His lawyers) try to tell why he did it...trying to get him off....and will just make family more upset...He will get his justice..and I hope Life..behind bars forever....Will still say a prayer for you tonight..Bonnie

It wasn't a trial, after all. It was pre-sentencing where a jury of 12 was seated with 2 alternates. All evidence was presented with a detective, the ME, a psychologist testifying. The murderer testified, against his attorney's advice. He said he didn't know why he did it but he wished he could undo it! The jury was there to make a recommendation to the judge for either death or life without parole. They deliberated today, very thoroughly because they were out for about 4 hrs. Their unanimous recommendation to the judge was death. The judge will formally pronounce sentence Sept 30.
It was worse than any of us knew until they showed the jury the pictures, but we could see, too. We are satisfied with the jury's recommendation if one can be satisfied in this sort of thing.
The hearings began on the date of her murder and ended on the date she was found. Irony.
Thank you again for all your prayers. I felt them.
