Egad! I've been evicted! I apparently wandered off topic in the Show of Hands Thread with this...

We do need to keep Valvereplacement.com on the web - and we have a bigger, newer server to fund, so...

Whoops! AUGUST ALREADY!
REMEMBER VR DONATION TIME!!

Read and Heed!

Best wishes,

Mary

I have been getting the post-donation mail from the site.

Whoops! AUGUST ALREADY!
REMEMBER VR DONATION TIME!!

Best wishes,

Hey Bob,
I can't get the donation site to take my money. Are you having any problems ? Neither option will let me drop my money in them. I've run out of checks (left check renewal to my husband while I was being operated on--BIG MISTAKE) so I'm confined to making purchases via debit card until they arrive.
I hate to send a check anyway. I want the pay pal site to fly right!

I went directly to www.PayPal.com and logged in, and then to the "send money" tab.

The specifics are: to eyring@pobox.com in USD for SERVICE memo VR.com.

Best wishes,

Mary,

I didn't have any problems with the link to Paypal on the main page. It seems like all the wacky stuff happening is not consistent. It's like one person can't get emails but the threads load quickly. Others have slow loading but get emails. Now you can't link to Paypal.

However, I think the link to Paypal issue is a BIG one to get fixed quickly.

Gina,
You're right; especially you consider I've tried to give Hank money for 5 days now!
I can link to them, but they won't take the final steps to complete the transaction. Sometimes they say I've timed out. Other times, they say I haven't completed all the credit card information. Who would think it would be this hard to give money away?

Remember you can go to PayPal direct ( www.paypal.com ), as in the instructions above, rather than using the VR.com page link, should you have problems.

AND nobody has mentioned my rotating avatars, which are all pictures from my garden...

Beautiful avatars, Bob!

I've noticed; just haven't taken the time to let you know that I've noticed!
Oh, and by the way, I emailed James many of your Tobago bird pictures. Don't be surprised if he mentions it when you meet. :)

I sincerely apologize for any difficulty experienced on the contributions page.

I will not rest tonight until I have something figured out...

Hank,
Don't lose sleep over this. I can use the Paypal site that Bob listed if nothing else.
Save your sleepless nights for when your kids become teen-agers! :)

Hank,

We will always figure out a way to take care of things. I just don't want any newbies to get discouraged and not donate because the link doesn't work.

Like Mary said, please save your sleepless time for other things.

Hank, is Paypal set up yet for your new email address? Your old address seems to be quite alive and kicking at PayPal, but you should let us know if it changes there.

Thank you,

Your avatar isn't rotating for me. I sat and looked and looked at it, willed it to rotate - nada. Just the yellow beautiful lily. I would've mentioned a rotation.

Ann,
I think by "rotating" Bob means, a different flower for several posts- they are beautiful and I think he may have a second career as a photographer! :)

Omigosh, what a great vision to bring with me...Ann staring at the avatar, waiting for it to spin! Like a showing of Fantasia, but without the chemical assists...The dalmation sitting by the RCA Victor gramaphone...

My fault, Ann, for raising expectations. But thank you for the mental picture. I shall enjoy it well into Connecticut!

Don't forget to donate to the site! It's new and for you!

Best wishes,

whatever it is, it ain't happenin in DeFuniak, but then we are slow(er) down here. I keep getting the same yellow lily no matter what I do.

Keep that picture thought, Bob. Glad I can make your trip easier. Bonnie, are you waiting for rotation, too? :p %3:D :D

I've been changing the avatar every few days to a different flower, Ann. It's not computer wizardry, but plain old human intervention. ;)

The added thrill is in trying to get the pictures to load without jigsawing or dark overshadow errors. Possibly, light pictures may be loading better than dark pictures. At least until they get a chance to look into the picture loading mystery.

Which, of course, costs $$$. Which, of course, needs to come from us, everyone. Which, of course, brings me back to...
Donation Time!

If you can, what you can, when you can...

Best wishes,

Hank

Well, I spent many hours last night making up a new contributions page and renewing the PayPal and Amazon code inserted into the page.

I will get it going one way or another..

I just need to consult once in the morning with the IT guys and then I'll put the new page online for testing..

Bob, we actually did have a rotating one a few yrs back. I am pretty sure it was weekycat who put it in. Real neat. In any case, I guess I am missing the other ones because so far all I have seen is the yellow one. Time to change? In meantime, I will continue to stare! :p
