View Full Version : My 4th Anniversary

Hi Everybody,

Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been lurking while I was at work but I've had computer issues at home. I finally resolved them this weekend. Seems I had some virus that just wasn't letting me go anywhere. I either couldn't get on, or I kept getting booted off as soon as I tried to get on the internet. Downloaded Ad-Aware, cleaned up the screaming meannies and quarenteened the little suckers! Was finally able to run a complete defrag and now it's working fine! :D

Today is my 4th Anniversary. I saw my cardio today and he said I looked and sounded fantastic and keep up the good work. My INR was 3.5, which made me very happy. I go for my stress echo on Good Friday. I had the last one two years ago. I also saw my family doctor today to get my scripts refilled and he couldn't believe how good I looked and sounded. Knock on wood I haven't even caught any of the viruses or sinus infections that have been going around (my computer caught them instead) :(
I've gotten little sniffles, but thats about it.

I can't believe it's been 4 years! Life is great! I'm also so glad I found this wonderful, caring, informative website, VR.com. Thank you Hank, Michele, and Ross for running the show. What we have all done without you?

I hope my valves and health last as long as some of our veteran valvers!

Gina,Ross,Cort,Christina L, Bryan B, Rob Thats Me, Steve, Karylnn, Gina M and Ben. Thank you very much.

Gina, I'd like to think I have 104 more anniversarys, but I would be happy with just 40 more like Steve said too! :D

Rob I agree, life is good! I've learned to not sweat the small stuff.

Ben, I will keep up the good work. Gina I hope I get to see you and Cort, maybe Karylnn? in May too.

Hey Bryan I like how you said that: valviversary! Ain't that the truth!

Yeah, Christina, it does seem like it was just yesterday I had my 3rd. Time is flying. Hope I get to see you out in Vegas in October!

Ross, something tells me you'll pass me anniversary wise. I was going to say beat me, but i was afraid of where you'd go with that! :p

Thanks again everyone. I knew my heart buddies would understand better than my close friends and family. They know the surgery happened, but they really don't realize it gave me another chance. 50 years ago we would all have died from this. The wonders of modern medicine and technology!

Congratulations, Lorraine. Sounds like you're where everyone is aiming to be. That's good, because your wonderful post is making a lot of people feel a lot rosier about things.

Fifty or so more would be great. Keep showing us how it's done!

Best wishes,

Congratulations Lorraine,

I am beginning to understand how good it feels to realize time after valve replacement is a gift, happy for you. In May we can further celebrate the occasion.

Hi Everyone,

Dave: Yes time does fly! I can hardly believe it's been four years and i do feel great! Carol said to tell you Hi! too!How did you're check up and echo go?

Mary & Bob: It's great when us veteran valvers can give our members hope! I'm glad my post gave eveyone such a positive feeling! An I'm just a four year veteran! Not like others on this sight. They were my inspiration also!

Cort & Papa Happy Star: Looking forward to May!

Sherry: I hope you'll be there in May too. Unfortunately I won't be able to stay late as i have graduation to help co-ordinate the next day! :(

Anne & Sherrin! Thanks! Yes, where has the time gone?

I had my Lipid Profile done the Saturday after my anniversary and my total cholesterol was 148! LDL 140 and HDL 40! Imagine that! I was so happy!

This Friday I'm having my Stress/Echo done! I'm sure that will go just fine too! I'll let you all know!

Lowrain!

Ah...well, I'm not sure I'll be able to stay late either.... But, that's OK as it seems that the event will be an all-day gathering (for the most part) and, from what I understand, people can come and go as they please....

I am sssooo looking forward to it :).

Hi Everyone,

Cort & Papa Happy Star: Looking forward to May!

I plan to rent the canoes out for the whole weekend and there wont be any time restrictions -- its going to be really great!

Fermilab is also open to visitors now and guests dont need passes any more -- so you can come and visit us anytime...

We might have a Barbecue lunch ( courtesy the Fermilab buffalo herd .. j/k :) ) that saturday -- unfortunately the pool only opens on memorial day :( , but there is plenty of outdoors to enjoy...

I am going to ask for the Users Center to be opened for us so we can get those pool games in -- I am going to start working on my post-surgery shot -- so watch out ... :D

Myself and family are greatly looking forward to 5/14.

Please let us know if we can bring something!

Burair,

That sounds GREAT to me!!!! Now, I'm looking forward to this event even more ;). I'll be sure to post this on achaheart.org for them and I'm hoping someone will be willing to post this over on the CHD Yahoo group, since I'm not able to post there anymore. I think it'd be neat to get a bunch of us together for this event :).

And, Gina M is right about playing pool.....

Ah sucks....it would've been nice to have ya'll up here for a visit. For some reason, my "internal calendar" did not coorelate the date of your surgery with you not being able to join us...until you mentioned it :(. Good luck with the surgery. As for joining us at an IL gathering, there is always next time ;).
